Who is Chef Philippe?
Chef
Philippe came to the U.S. in 1989 after working for his father in
Paris for many years. He started with very little English, but a
very big dream: to introduce Americans to the delights of French
cuisine at a reasonable price.
Working as a chef for many years, Philippe traveled the US before
settling down in the Jefferson City, Mo., area. There, he opened
Chez Monet, a sandwich and pastry shop; and Chez Philippe
Crêperie in Columbia, Mo.
When he established The Paris Company,
he brought central Missouri a portable, in-your-home gourmet French
bistro, complete with fine wines and a waitress!
Chef Philippe eventually moved to St. Louis and opened Le
Petit Paris, on August 19, 1998, a French bistro with a
kiss of North African spice. Here, he and his wife Aouatef, daughter
Dina, and son Alexandre delight their customers with a romantic
blend of Parisian and North African cuisine.
